Suzanne and Kathy

By Kathy

My name is Kathy and I am a 2 year, 8 month survivor. When I was diagnosed my world came tumbling down. My sister Suzanne was at my side from the hour I was told till the present day.

The day after I was diagnosed she took me to get a whole new wardrobe. All through chemo she came every week and gave me a pedicure and manicure to boost my self image. She never missed a chemo treatment or any of my doctor visits. When I was approached to attend a support group I was totally against it. She persuaded me to go and it was the best choice we ever made. She attends every meeting with me when she is in town. She enjoys this and feels she has gotten as much as I have out of the meetings. Every walk and activity I do for breast cancer, she is there with me.

Breast cancer is a horrible disease, but if you have a sister like Suzanne, it makes it much more tolerable. I thank God for good sisters such as I have, and for the fact that she is participating in this important research.
